A Pedagogical Belief Statement

Learning at Work Podcast

This is the first in a series of podcasts that will be split between educational and music performance issues.  This first video podcast is sort of a pedagogical belief statement.  It is summed up on the final screen:

Most educational artifact in use today are rooted in concepts tailored to the needs of the middle-ages and ancient Greece.

We need newly designed artifacts:

  • New collaborative institutional structures to promote true lifelong learning.
  • New future oriented pedagogies that support network learning.
  • A focus on relationships as the source of pedagogy.
  • A educational committment that transcends the boundaries of time and space.

Please comment!  I’m hoping to have a development conversation around this theme over time to expand on this basic idea.
